Cure Terms Glossary

Slabstock is the term for flexible polyurethane foam which is created in a free-rise block rather than in a defined mould cavity. Manufacture may be performed in an open trough, on a continuous basis, or batchwise in a rectangular mould with a free-rise lid arrangement. The block is of such dimensions to allow for cutting into the sizes required for the final products. This usually dictates a large-scale operation which can exploit the reaction exotherm to effect the cure.
